Kid Beyond is a singer, meditation teacher, Jeopardy! champion, voice actor, legendary beatboxer ... and of course, game and puzzle designer.
His credits include the star-studded deduction game Guess the Link! (Gamewright), the forthcoming speed-matching family game Chickenball! (FoxMind), and his legendary Sunday puzzles such as “The Mystery of McGuffin Manor” for The New York Times. He has rocked festivals like Coachella and SXSW—and shared stages with James Brown, Ray Charles, the Neville Brothers, Imogen Heap, LL Cool J, Run-DMC, Will I Am, Michael Franti, and many more. He leads song circles and workshops on vocal improvisation, embodiment, creativity, and play — and meditation workshops nationwide. As a voice actor, he's been on hundreds of games and animes, including The Sims, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, Assassin's Creed, Monkey Island, Sam and Max, and Back to the Future: The Game. And as a four-time Jeopardy! contestant, he's the only person ever to beatbox with Alex Trebek.
Summary
This game combines improvisational wordplay with creative cluing and speedy guessing. Two cards are turned up, revealing two letters—PP, for instance. Each player thinks of a phrase that starts with those initials—paper plane, Peter Parker, ping pong, pizza party, etc. Then they clue it for their teammates, either with a single word, a drawing, or by acting it out. If you're too slow, the other team can jump in and steal your points! It's fast-moving, fun, and addictive.
