Mit einem Abschluss in Geologie an der Bergbauschule der Bundesuniversität von Ouro Preto, einem Abschluss in Hydrogeologie an der Bundesuniversität von Bahia (UFBA) und einem Postgraduiertenabschluss in Arbeitssicherheitstechnik an der Päpstlichen Katholischen Universität von Minas Gerais hat er über 10 Jahre in großen Unternehmen wie VOTORANTIM METAIS und VALE Fertilizantes gearbeitet.
