He is one of the few leading interdisciplinary experts in the fields of thermal engineering and mathematics who is well-known for developing mathematical models of biological systems and medical devices to identify novel diagnostic and treatment strategies to improve the care available for chronic diseases such as cancer, type-1 diabetes, and cold-related injuries such as frostbite and loss of dexterity, hypothermia etc. Most importantly, Dr. Singh's work in developing novel medical devices is exemplary as his multi-orifice insulin delivery device that he developed is currently undergoing human clinical trials in the United States and Europe to obtain Food and Drug Administration 510K approval and CE Mark approval. Therefore, his multi-hole cannula design is a proof of technology being commercialized for insulin delivery demonstrates the impact of Dr. Singh's work. Moreover, his open-source algorithm for magnetic coil design has been consistently adopted by other researchers to inform their own work. In addition, he has actively engaged his peers in the field of thermal engineering by authoring and co-authoring 35 peer-reviewed scientific publications including 8 peer-reviewed journal articles, 2 peer-reviewed conference proceedings articles, 3 book chapters, 22 peer-reviewed conference abstracts that have been published in leading international research journals such as International Journal of Heat and Mass Transfer, International Communications in Heat and Mass Transfer, ASME J. Briefly, Dr. Singh incorporated heterogeneous blood perfusion term obtained using medical imaging at each pixel location to relax the uniform blood perfusion assumption. Additionally, Dr. Singh is a recipient of three more research awards during his doctoral degree program at the University of Maryland Baltimore County, Baltimore, Maryland, USA, including the "Dissertation Fellowship Award," "Student Researcher of the Quarter Award," "Graduate Student of the Month Award," and three times "GSA Professional Development Grantee."
