About the author










Ted (Frederick) Leighton O.C. is professor emeritus at the University of Saskatchewan and professeur associé at Université Sainte-Anne. From 1984 to 2015, he was a professor of veterinary pathology at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine and was the founding director of the Canadian Wildlife Health Cooperative. Since retiring from academic science, he has focused on creative writing and local nature conservation projects. He lives in Bear River, Nova Scotia with his partner, the artist Eva McCauley.
