Aware that all media outlets, whether traditional or modern, produce their news using sensationalism, this research seeks to understand, in particular, the type of sensationalism and the strategies used to construct it in the private press in Mozambique, at a time when these media outlets are dubbed as unserious in terms of their professional approach. The aim of this work is to provide an analytical-descriptive approach to the current journalistic scenario, i.e. in a context in which capitalism is imposing itself and the market is witnessing an influx and explosion of media that are not exactly information media, but which transcend their activities - an environment of appropriation of this practice, either by putting an end to media hegemony or by forcing them to adopt new strategies for survival in the world of competition.
