About the author

Prof. Dr. Lin Zhang is a Professor at City University of Hong Kong. He directs the Laboratory for Energy Economics and Environmental Management and collaborates with several esteemed institutions. His research, focused on energy and sustainability economics, integrates economic theory, econometrics, general equilibrium modeling, machine learning, and interdisciplinary assessments to develop effective policy solutions.
Prof. Zhang’s work contributes to numerous UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including clean energy, economic growth, innovation, reduced inequalities, and climate action. With a Ph.D. in Economics from ETH Zurich, he has published over 80 papers extensively in top journals and secured funding from prestigious organizations. He also serves as an editor for The Energy Journal and an associate editor for Humanities and Social Sciences Communications.
Recognized among the "Top 0.5% Social Scientists" by ScholarGPS, the "Top 2% Scientists" by Stanford University and the "Top 5% Economists" by RePEc, Prof. Zhang has mentored numerous Ph.D. students who have become leaders in academia and industry.
