About the author










O.P. Mishra is a Fellow of the National Academy of Sciences, India (F.N.A.Sc.), for his pioneering work involving applied geophysics/seismology/disaster risk management, with over 30 years of experience in different fields of earth sciences and seismology. He obtained an M.Sc. Tech degree from IIT (ISM)-Dhanbad in applied geophysics; a Ph.D. and a D.Sc. from the Geodynamics Research Centre, Ehime University, Japan, in seismology; a postgraduate diploma in management (PGDMA) from the Centre for Education of the All India Management Association (AIMA), New Delhi, the apex body of the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs). specializating in finance management.
D.C. Naskar received an M.Sc. in physics from Calcutta University. He was conferred with a doctorate degrees from Jadavpur University. He worked for three and a half years as an assistant teacher in physics in a West Bengal Government Aided HS School. He also worked at the West Bengal State Electricity Board in Santaldih, Purulia, West Bengal, and as a chemical and metallurgical assistant for South Eastern Railway in Waltair, Andhra Pradesh, prior to joining in GSI. He joined GSI in July 1989. Dr. D.C. Naskar has held the position of director (geophysics) at the Geological Survey of India (GSI). He has over 32 years of experience in geophysical mapping, employing gravity, magnetic, deep resistivity, GPS, and magnetotelluric (MT), and seismic techniques across various regions of the Geological Survey of India (GSI).
