Nowadays, cosmetic surgery has become one of the concerns of humans. According to the American Society of Plastic Surgery, more than 13 million plastic surgeries performed in 2010. A national survey in Norway found that 3% of men and 7% of women aged 18-65 have undergone some type of plastic surgery. There are no official statistics on cosmetic surgery in Iran. According to unofficial statistics, more than 36,000 Iranians undergo cosmetic surgery every year. Among the cosmetic surgeries performed in Iran, rhinoplasty is in first place. According to unofficial statistics, Iran is the first in the world in terms of the number of cosmetic rhinoplasty surgeries. After Iran, the United States, England, and to some extent France are in the next ranks. These approximate statistics and figures were only unofficial cases of cosmetic surgery. However, it is very important to understand the boundary between the common desire to improve one's appearance and neurosis. Extreme dissatisfaction with appearance may hide pathological mental states, and neglecting it may have serious medical consequences.
