Bibliotherapy can help in the treatment, solution and development of people with various types of problems, which can be emotional, physical, social or moral, because reading, as well as being an instrument for disseminating information and knowledge, can be therapeutic, helping in the understanding of how to deal with such problems. The librarian, as well as being a disseminator and mediator of information and knowledge, can contribute to the individual's therapeutic treatment process, acting as an intermediary between the individual and bibliotherapeutic tools, helping with personal development, bringing improvements to the individual and to society, thus fulfilling their social role.
About the author
Graduated in Librarianship from Centro Universitário Assunção - UNIFAI. She has experience in Information Science, with an emphasis on Librarianship. She has worked in a university library for 15 years and is currently a librarian at the Toledo University Center - Araçatuba, SP. In addition to this book, she has published articles on the same subject.
