About the author

Des Moines native Ron Playle has collected postcards of the Des Moines area for over 50 years and has enjoyed
going to the Iowa State Fair for an equal number of years. Playle is now semiretired but keeps active by selling worldwide vintage postcards on his Playle's Online Auction Web site and, of course, going to the fair every year.
