The temperature regime of frozen soils is investigated. Analytical and numerical methods are proposed, which allow to determine the coefficients of thermal diffusivity, heat transfer by identifying the analytical solution of the mathematical model of heat transfer with the observation data; to establish the time period of transition from nonstationary process to stationary process; to find the limiting depth of permafrost ground thawing; to analyze the influence of boundary and initial conditions on the long-term process of heat transfer to select a simple mathematical model and to establish the regularity of the process.
