About the author
Moira Butterfield writes books which spark children's imaginations and interest in the world around them. Having studied graphics and English Literature, she went on to become a children’s book editor, then a full-time children’s author. Moira was shortlisted for The Children's Wainwright Prize for Non-Fiction in 2025.Merle Goll grew up in the North of Germany but left the shores of the Baltic Sea after school to spend a year in England. This was almost 30 years ago, and the island has been her home ever since. After studying and working as a graphic and motion designer in Bristol, she now lives in Twickenham with her family, working solely as an illustrator.
