'Inside the temple, monstrous as a giant orchid, sat a golden god. Suddenly, a cymbal clashed, and the chanting stopped...'

Sue had no idea what she might encounter along the road or where her journey would end. Her curiosity to find out what lies over the hill has always led to detours and unexpected destinations-from Concorde's controls to Indian sewerage systems.
When Jeannette accepted a job with the UN in post-conflict Kosovo, she never imagined she'd one day find herself backed against a cliff edge, staring down the wrong end of a sub-machine gun held in the shaky hands of a young greek soldier. She had little warning that the twist and turns of her travels would take her face to face with a mountain lion or to supper with a Morman.
This book takes you on a journey without travel itineraries, internet, guidebooks, or tourist hotspots-just a passion for discovering what lies over the next hill. That's real adventure.

About the author

Sue's curiosity to see the world led her in a sideways direction to a pilot's licence and becoming one of the UK's first female air traffic controllers. Hankering after new experiences has presented her with numerous opportunities to explore the world and, apart from the odd scar, she has survived to bring back some colourful tales. After numerous house moves she is now happily based in a converted barn in Middle England. Still curious. Still travelling.
