Contradicting doomsayers, in this book, quantum physicist Amit Goswami demonstrates that humanity's prospect for a bright future is rising as we move out of the era of the materialist /rationalist mind to the era of the spiritual/intuitive mind.
According to Darwin and mainstream biologists, human evolution, just like animal evolution, is driven by survival motif alone via gene mutation and natural selection. Citing new anthropological and archeological data, Goswami contends that the evolution of humans--homo sapiens-is driven by survival needs as well as higher needs such as goodness, love, justice, and wholeness. To this end, Goswami has developed a new paradigm quantum biology that integrates Darwin's gene-based evolution theory with Lamarck's development-based evolution theory (evo-devo).
According to quantum biology, humanity broke free from the shackles of animalhood and became part animal-part human some 70000 years ago via the process of self-domestication. This process continued and humans developed the capacity of altruism and love and produced a golden age that was mythologized as Eden. Fall from Eden came with the advent of the rational era-an era of descent overall.
And now with quantum physics having integrated science and spirituality, the journey of ascent begins again in which all of us are invited to play a role.
