This work analyses the current Brazilian constitutional model based on the proposals for political reform and seeks to clarify whether these can contribute to overcoming the current political crisis. It analyses the current Brazilian crisis, looking for similarities with other democratic models that also show a marked inability of the political system to represent citizens in the effective practice of governance. According to Norberto Bobbio's vision, it also looks for ways to overcome corruption and the political crisis through conscious citizen participation, transparency in processes and, above all, a democracy made up of a set of rules. It also looked for foundations in the concepts of social emancipation from thinkers such as Boaventura de Souza Santos, Paulo Freire and Habermas, considering this a possibility for social transformation and changing reality, linked to the idea of human dignity. Finally, it discusses the relationship between the democratic process, political and civil freedoms and individual and collective demonstrations, and their positive correlation with national development processes. The book is suitable for law and economics professionals.
