About the author
Arnold Lawson, a retired teacher, was head of biology and head of the science faculty in a large comprehensive school in Sheffield. From an early age and living on the edge of the English Lake District with its outstanding landscapes and diversity of flora and fauna, he has always had an interest in natural history. This interest has taken him from the forests of New Zealand to the Amazon jungle of Brazil. His other interests include gardening, fellwalking and landscape photography.
