About the author

Dr. Kirtikumar Randive is presently working as Professor and Head of the Department of Geology, RTM Nagpur University, Nagpur, India. He is Associate Editor of the Journal Mineralogy and Petrology, Vienna (Springer), Open Geoscience, Warsaw, Poland (De Gruyter’s), and Dy. Editor-in-Chief of the Nagpur University Science Journal, Nagpur, India. He published over 100 of research articles in the reputed journals worldwide and also published about 10 books including monographs in Research Publishing Services, Singapore and Nova Publishers, New York. He jointly edited three books for Springer-Nature, Cham, Switzerland; two special issues of Open Geoscience dedicated to P. Comin Chiaramonti (Italy) and Lia N. Kogarko (Russia) and one for Mineralogy & Petrology dedicated to L. G. Gwalani (India). Dr. Randive was the member of 31st Indian Expedition to Antarctica (2011-2012) and Visiting Fellow to the University of Portsmouth, UK (2018). He received several awards and recognitions from different organizations including Best Teacher (Researcher)Award of the RTM Nagpur University in 2017.
 
Pratik Godbole is a research scholar in the Department of Geology, RTM Nagpur University. He completed his M.Sc. Tech in Applied Geology in 2022 from RTM Nagpur University with distinction and second order of merit. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D. under the guidance of Prof. K.R. Randive. He previously worked as Assistant Professor (AD-HOC) and now working as Contributory Lecturer in the same department. He is also the fellow of Pangea Society, Mumbai. So far, he published 20 research papers and book chapters and presented his research work in several conferences and Seminars. He has also worked as a reviewer of journal articles. He is an active member of the Maharashtra Youth for Climate Action and has been actively publishing his ideas on Climate Action. His wide range of research interests including Mineral Economics, Mining, Geochemistry, Environmental sustainability, Sustainable Development, Geo-education, Forensic Geology and Medical Geology.
