There are many filmmakers who have been interested in the universe of chalk and blackboard, just as there is no self-respecting teacher who has not used films in the classroom for teaching purposes. Directors have approached the classrooms to talk about their childhood memories, the difficulties of integration, bullying, violence in the classroom, its importance for the progress of peoples, the complex relationships between parents and children, the implementation of motivating methodologies against the stagnation of educators clinging to dogmas, the teachers who mark their pupils forever, a microcosm that is, in its own way, a representation of what we have come to call society. Since films have dealt with education in its more than a century of history, it is only fair that education should return the favor and concern itself with them beyond their use in the classroom as entertainment or as illustrative texts to accompany explanations. The list of films is so wide that there is no subject for which there is no range of references. How many films narrating events of interest for the subject of History! How many about mathematicians! How many films based on literary texts or starring writers! How many films about athletes and stories about the world of sports! How many biopics about painters, musicians and artists in general! How many films about scientific research and advances! Among the films included in this book are titles such as El club de los poetas muertos, Hoy empieza todo or Rebelión en las aulas, classic representatives of the close relationship between cinema and school, along with others that may be unknown. Fernando Molero, teacher and film critic, demonstrates that, accompanied by the hypnotic power of moving images, we will have enriched our task and contributed to our students' love for everything related to education and, incidentally, also for films as a means of expression, knowledge and entertainment.
