About the author










Jane Forsyth BA (Hons), FRICS, FTPI, AFHEA, is a Chartered Surveyor, a fellow of The Property Institute, and a former property solicitor. She has 35 years' experience in the real estate sector, including as a residential and commercial landlord, director of her residential management business, and director of a national property association. Jane has academic experience, including as Associate Tutor at the University College of Estate Management (UCEM), and she is now a Senior Lecturer in Property Law on the BSc (Hons) and MSc Real Estate degrees at Oxford Brookes University. Her RICS assessment experience includes sitting on final APC interview panels, and she has successfully mentored many Residential pathway candidates at Property Elite, in addition to providing training for candidates and qualified professionals. Jane is co-author of Real Estate: The Basics (Routledge 2022).
