Peter Brown creció en New Jersey, Estados Unidos. Se formó en el Art Center College of Design y, al acabar
la carrera, marchó a vivir a Nueva York, donde trabajó primero en publicidad. Hizo tambén animación para televisión y trabajos como actor. Actualmente, desde Brooklyn, es uno de los ilustradores y escritores más reconocidos de Estados Unidos y de la literatura infantil y juvenil, ganador de numerosos premios.
