This book systematically explores the tea culture in the tea poetry of the Song Dynasty, comprehensively presents the style of tea Tao in the Song Dynasty, and presents the relationship between tea Tao and the creation of tea poetry in the Song Dynasty, greatly expanding the literary resources for the study of tea Tao and coming up with new findings, including the conclusion that tea art and tea Tao are one and the same, as the former constitutes the essence of the latter. Tea Tao is a crystallization of Chinese culture, which underwent broader and more profound development during the Song Dynasty. It has inherited the achievements of ancient Chinese thoughts and incorporated the new developments of Taoist and Zen Buddhist thoughts in the medieval period, showcasing the characteristics of the nation and the time. About the author










Jie Huang is an associate professor and doctoral supervisor at Zhejiang University. She has obtained Ph.D. degree in Ancient Chinese Literature from Zhejiang University and completed postdoctoral research in Chinese Language and Literature at Fudan University. Dr. Huang's main interest lies in the study of literature and art of the Song Dynasty and writing poetry. Her published monographs include Song Ci and Folk CustomsStudies on Beliefs and Folk Customs in Song Dynasty PaintingsTea Poetry and Tea Tao in Song DynastyAncient Moon Song: Ode to Famous Ancient Chinese Paintings. She has published over 50 academic papers and over 100 reviews of paintings and poems. Dr. Huang was awarded the second prize for outstanding achievements in philosophy and social sciences by the Zhejiang Provincial Government. She was sponsored by the Korea Foundation for Advanced Studies for international academic exchange to visit Dongguk University in South Korea for one year from 2014 to 2015.
