Learners on a distance learning course hold study documents in their hands again after a long period of further education or training. After years of completing initial training, there are materials/learning documents on the table that need to be processed in a variety of ways. It is advantageous to have a solid basic knowledge and an education management system that can be used in a phase of further or continuing education."Further training" refers to learning processes that involve maintaining current knowledge/"additional knowledge". "Continuing education" refers to learning processes that relate to higher qualification with academic education/ "advanced knowledge". The European Union prefers "continuing education" as an educational measure. Distance learning helps to obtain education independently of space and time in a self-management, usually with supervision.
