Hector/ Hec's IT company wins a tender to develop software on chronic youth unemployment in the Marianas, where Glen joins ' her ', along with Aline, a Micronesian-descended girl programme writer, and Jules' mother Eileen. They are contracted to start an industrial estate.

Jules, fitted with a penis and having survived blood poisoning. gathers Ann and a Vietnamese girl Angh, a classmate, as his consorts.
