This book presents the botany and possible therapeutic uses of Caryocar brasiliense, more popularly known as "pequi". It can be used as a medicine because of its numerous therapeutic effects, making it the target of great research and experimentation due to the richness of its nutrients and possible pharmacological actions. It is a typical species of the Brazilian cerrado, belonging to the genus Caryocar brasiliense of the Caryocaraceae family. Studies have shown a variety of pharmacological effects on various diseases. It is a fruit that can be found not only in the cerrado, but also in the southeast and northeast of the country. It plays an important role in generating jobs and family income for the agro-extractivist population.
