Physiological changes in tomato seeds induced by osmopriming - A strategy to increase seed vigor and initial seedling growth

Osmotic conditioning is a technique that can be used to increase the vigor and germination performance of seeds, as well as making the metabolism of the antioxidant system, nitrogen and carbohydrates more efficient. This results in seedlings with faster initial growth and greater tolerance to unfavorable soil and climate conditions. The sum of all the benefits of osmotic conditioning results in uniform crops with high productivity.

About the author

The author graduated in Biological Sciences from the Federal University of Lavras (UFLA) in 2010. Master's degree in Agronomy/Plant Physiology from UFLA in 2013. PhD in Agronomy/Plant Physiology from UFLA in 2016. Since 2016 Professor of Plant Physiology and Biochemistry at the Federal University of Western Pará.
