About the author

As a lifelong nature enthusiast, Alexandra Sclafani became a first-time author and illustrator with "Creatures of the Coast." She is a resident of the Atlantic coast and lives about fifteen minutes from the shores of Charleston, South Carolina. Being immersed in the Low Country's beautiful sea life, she fell in love with the ocean and enjoys visiting the beach, putting her bare feet in the sand, and connecting to its magic. After taking a leap of faith and publishing her first book, she is hoping to inspire some of that magic in her readers and spark happy memories for travelers with poems and illustrations that honor maritime nature and the beautiful sea.
