About the author

Professor Paul Y. F. Lee is a globally recognised authority in regenerative orthopaedics, renowned for integrating surgical excellence with pioneering innovations in medical engineering. A British-trained orthopaedic surgeon with fellowships in regenerative surgery and a PhD in Medical Engineering, Professor Lee has become an influential figure in transforming musculoskeletal care through science, engineering, and digital health strategies.
As the founder of MSK Doctors, Professor Lee leads a network of specialist clinics including the London Cartilage Clinic, Open MRI Lincolnshire, and The Keep Clinic. These centres offer cutting-edge diagnostics and biologic treatments, including the UK’s first Open MRI and MAI-Motion Lab, a markerless, AI-powered system for clinical motion analysis.
Professor Lee holds an Honorary Professorship with the College of Health and Science at the University of Lincoln (2017–present) and serves as Visiting Professor of Medical Engineering at the University of Chester (until 2025). He has also supervised over 100 students across orthopaedics, sports medicine, and biomedical engineering, fostering cross-disciplinary innovation through academic partnerships with institutions such as Exeter, Leeds, and Lincoln.
His surgical contributions include TWIS-TKR (a custom-aligned knee replacement), STARR ligament repair, Liquid Cartilage, and biologic reconstructions that push the boundaries of joint preservation. As a leading expert on Arthrosamid hydrogel injections, he has developed a 15-step protocol adopted internationally for its efficacy and safety.
In his role as a clinician-scientist, Professor Lee has authored over 80 peer-reviewed publications and is cited over 1,000 times. He is the scientific visionary behind Regen PhD, a platform translating regenerative science into practical health strategies with the ethos: Stay Young, Be Strong, Live Forever.
