Between 1904 and 1907, the Séeberger brothers took part in four photography exhibitions organised by the City of Paris as competitions for amateurs, which were all the rage at the time. These exhibitions enabled Jules Séeberger (1872-1932) to make a name for himself and forge a solid reputation as a photographer. He was soon joined by his two younger brothers, Henri (1876-1956) then Louis (1874-1946). As if by magic, the brothers' precious prints, now part of the Musée Carnavalet - Histoire de Paris collection, bring belle époque Paris and its inhabitants back to life.
Edited by Anne de Mondenard with an essay by Marie Simon
