He subsequently joined the faculty at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, USA, where he has taught and conducted research in Organic and Bioinorganic Chemistry. He has been named an Alfred P. Sloan Research Fellow, and he has authored two textbooks in addition to several dozen research papers.
