About the author
Dr. Nasrollah Moradikor is currently the research director and principal investigator at the International Center for Neuroscience Research in Tbilisi, Georgia. He has demonstrated exceptional leadership skills in promoting applied neuroscience research and establishing fruitful collaborations among scientists worldwide. Dr. Nasrallah's research program is dedicated to developing interventions for the prevention and treatment of neurological disorders. His team investigates the molecular mechanisms and therapeutics of brain disorders, including Parkinson's and Alzheimer's diseases, employing both clinical and experimental models. In 2021, Dr. Nasrollah founded a new community platform named “Neuroscience Network” to support and develop neuroscience in the world. His ability to create a supportive and intellectually stimulating environment has been instrumental in promoting the development of aspiring neuroscientists. He established robust international research collaborations with institutions in the USA, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, South Korea, and Malaysia. He has over 15 years of research and teaching experience in the field of brain health. Nasrollah has been on the scientific advisory board and evaluation committees of several institutions abroad. He currently serves as an editor, editorial board member and section editor of several reputed journals in the field of neuroscience. His contributions to the scientific community are evident through his publications, as well as more than 15 years of editorial expertise. Dr. Chinna Orish is an MBBS graduate with a PhD in Anatomy and is a Senior Faculty member at the University of Port Harcourt, Nigeria. She completed her postdoctoral fellowship in Neurotoxicology at the National Center for Toxicological Research, USA, from 2016 to 2017. She is the founder of Women in Neuroscience and the Youth Neuroscience Association of Nigeria, where she is dedicated to empowering young minds and promoting gender equality in the field of neuroscience. Additionally, she serves as the lead investigator at the Neuro-Provictoire Research Laboratory, spearheading pioneering research initiatives. She coordinates the Neuroscience Group at the University of Port Harcourt, Nigeria, significantly contributing to the academic and research environment. Her active involvement in international scientific communities is evident through her memberships in prestigious organizations such as the International Society of Neurochemistry, the American Society of Neurochemistry, the Society for Neuroscience, and the Neuroscience Society of Nigeria. These affiliations reflect her commitment to staying at the forefront of global developments in neuroscience. Her research focuses on understanding sexual dimorphism in the molecular mechanisms of heavy metal-induced environmental toxicants in neurodegenerative and neurodevelopmental disorders, using both animal and Drosophila models. Her work has also shed light on the potential therapeutic roles of natural products in mitigating the adverse effects of environmental toxins on the nervous system. This research is crucial as it bridges the gap between basic neuroscience and practical therapeutic applications, offering hope for new treatments and preventative strategies in neurodegenerative diseases.
