About the author
Dr. Vinay Kumar Tyagi is a Scientist D in the Environmental Hydrology Division of the National Institute of Hydrology, Roorkee, India. His research interests include energy-efficient wastewater treatment systems, sludge and solid waste management, and health related water microbiology. Dr. Tyagi has over 100 international publications, with more than 8,000 citations, as well as co-editing or co-authoring 8 full books and 42 book chapters. He was listed in the Top 2% of Scientists worldwide (Stanford University / Elsevier). Dr. Tyagi is Management Committee Member of the International Water Association (IWA) Sludge Management Specialist Group (represent South Asia Division), and Anaerobic Digestion Specialist Group. He is an editorial board member for several international journals and a lead editor of several special issues. Dr. Tyagi has extensive international research experience and collaboration in Norway, Japan, Singapore, Spain, and Taiwan in the domains of wastewater treatment, sludge pre-treatment, and biomass to bioenergy recovery.
Dr. Kaoutar Aboudi is a substitute lecturer in the Department of Chemical Engineering and Food Technology at the University of Cádiz (Spain), where she is a senior researcher in the Applied Bioprocess Engineering research group. Her central research areas include biomass to bioenergy and value-added product recovery through anaerobic digestion and fermentation processes. She has been working on technologies related to biohythane production for 15 years. Dr. Aboudi has co-edited 2 full books and has co-authored 12 book chapters and 20 peer-reviewed papers published in recognized journals. She has participated in over 19 international conferences worldwide and has been a member of several research projects related to biomass valorization. She previously completed postdoctoral research at the IMDEA-Energy Institute in Madrid (Spain) and international internships at Delft University of Technology (the Netherlands) and the New University of Lisbon (Portugal). She has successfully supervised BSc degree students in Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology.
