The aim of this research is to explain the work of psychologists in the hospital context, bearing in mind that hospital psychology is a new field and has been regulated for less than two decades. This study intends to go through the entire historical trajectory of the hospital, up to the present day, when the work of psychologists in this context becomes more present, in addition to deepening knowledge of their work within a context that is so important. It will be explained how the psychologist arrived in this context, what makes their practice sustainable and increasingly valued and in demand in this environment, as well as the importance of their work that perceives the subject not by their pathology, because the human being is much more than a physical body, it must also be perceived by their emotions and feelings in the face of the absence of health.
