About the author
Born and raised in South Devon, Jill Nutbeem attended a secondary modern school until her education was complete. She went on to attend a technical college, where she undertook a two-and-a-half-year pre-nursing course to enable her to begin training as a state registered nurse at the age of eighteen. Qualifying in this at the age of twenty-one, she spent two years working in her training hospital, St John's in Chelmsford, Essex. She temporarily retired to begin a family and had two daughters.
