Globalization has transformed the economy into the main driving force behind international relations, necessitating greater legal and economic integration. In Africa, this transformation is illustrated by two major instruments: the Organization for the Harmonization of Business Law in Africa (OHADA) and the African Continental Free Trade Area (ZLECAf). Although distinct, OHADA and ZLECAf share complementary objectives in terms of economic and legal integration. ZLECAf benefits from successful geographical, economic and linguistic integration, while OHADA offers assertive legal integration, measured by the security of its normative and judicial system. Together, they can create a harmonized legal and economic framework, essential for stimulating growth and development in Africa.
