English · Paperback / Softback

Description

Agile development is the dominating approach in software engineering, and recognized for increasing manageability of changes, transparency of project status, communication, productivity, time-to-market, and team moral. These demands are also common in embedded domains, consequently resulting in their interest in agile development. Nevertheless, their context especially their regulations hinders these domains in the usage, adaption and introduction of agile methods like Scrum or Kanban by the book. To overcome this problem, this book provides the approach for goal-oriented and context-specific Agile Process Improvement (ACAPI). This step-wise analysis method is based on companies' and projects' improvement goals as well as their context information including the current development process and standards. Suitable agile practices are identified using the agile practice experience repository including the effects of the individual practices and their adaptability in different contexts. The application of this approach and its benefits is shown in several industrial case studies.
