About the author










AB Abdullah obtained his PhD from the Universiti Putra Malaysia, Malaysia. Now, he is working at the School of Mechanical Engineering, Universiti Sains Malaysia, with more than 20 years of experience in teaching and research. His research interests include precision sheet metal forming, tool and die design, and wire arc additive manufacturing. He has published more than 100 research papers in various international journals. He has written ten books including as an editor for a research book entitled Hole-Making Technologies for Composites: Advantages, Limitations and Potential, published by Woodhead Publishing, Elsevier, UK in 2019. He is actively involved as a reviewer for the International Journal of Advanced Manufacturing Technology (Springer, USA), the Journal of Material Processing Technology and Measurements (Elsevier), and the Journal of Testing and Evaluation (ASTM International). He is a Certified Train the Trainers under HRDF Malaysia and a Professional Engineer (PEng) registered with the Board of Engineers Malaysia.
MF Jamaludin is a senior researcher at the Advanced Manufacturing and Material Processing (AMMP Centre), University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He is actively involved in research on precision joining of dissimilar materials using low-power laser welding and friction stir welding processes. With more than 10 years of research experience, he has co-authored 24 publications on various topics related to manufacturing processes and is a co-inventor of 14 patents and industrial designs. His current research engagement is on the formability analysis of dissimilar aluminium TWBs using low-power fibre laser joining.
