About the author










Caleb Thiessen is an Interdisciplinary artist who has undergone extensive training in both graphic design and fine art. Having received comprehensive instruction from both private mentors and academic institutions, initially in Brandon, Manitoba, and then continuing in Calgary, Alberta, he holds certificates in graphic design and visual design.

With a lifelong passion for drawing, Caleb began painting in 2008, starting with oil painting, before ultimately transitioning to acrylics in 2016. His artwork was displayed in the Art Space and Design gallery in Calgary from 2019 to 2021, and his pieces have been acquired by private collectors across North America.

Caleb draws inspiration from Expressionist masters like Edvard Munch, Francis Bacon, and Max Klinger, with an evident influence from the abstract creations of Clyfford Still. Caleb's work frequently portrays skewed and distorted human forms and showcases elements of abstract experimentation. His primary focus is on creating compositions that are visually striking and emotionally evocative, emphasizing composition, colour, and expression.
