Bade- und Kurmusik - Musicobalneologische Streiflichter

Musik im Badekontext wird gemacht und gehört, geachtet und geächtet. Ihr Einsatz zwischen angewandter Diätetik, künstlerischer Praxis, sozialer Kommunikation und theoretischer Reflektion reicht von Unterhaltung (musica homines laetificat) über Therapeutikum (musica aegrotos sanat) bis zum Seelenheil (geistliche Badelieder) oder zu Vanitas-Assoziationen (z. B. über musizierende Narren). Der Band untersucht in Streiflichtern Formen, Gattungen, institutionelle Ausprägungen und künstlerische Reflexionen von Bade- und Kurmusik und ist die erste umfangreiche Sammlung an Forschungen zur Musicobalneologie. Dabei wird die Entwicklungslinie der Bade- und Kurmusik vom Mittelalter bis um 1800 nachgezeichnet, wobei der Schwerpunkt zwischen dem 16. und 18. Jahrhundert liegt. Ausblicke in die Neuzeit ergänzen das Bild.
