Jeans are the most loved staple of everyone's wardrobe, and yet denim is one of the most resource-intensive fabrics. As a result, the iconic pair of jeans has fueled the upcycling trend from fashion houses like Ralph Lauren and Givenchy to eco-conscious young people sewing at home. All are pushing boundaries with cool new ideas that give new life to their favorite denim. From denim expert Janelle Hanna, this practical book brings together ingenious repairing techniques and repurposing ideas. Your favorite jeans can be patched, visibly mended, reworked into a new fashionable style, or even cut up to form a completely new garment or accessory. Whether you want a tote bag, a bucket hat, or a fresh new cut in your trousers, Janelle's designs will show you how to rescue good denim from landfill and give it a better future. And you'll discover that there's nothing more satisfying than turning something old into something new!
