Football used to be a way for Amelia to escape when her parents were arguing, but now that her dad has moved out and her mum is struggling to cope, it's just another source of stress.

Amelia is late for practice while trying to help her mum and finds it hard to concentrate during important matches. Her coach and team-mates are all worried, but it's difficult to help when Amelia lashes out in anger.

About the author

Eve loves to read (and watch) dramatic stories and thrillers and was compelled to write The Crash after reading about some friends in a car who crashed into the middle of nowhere. She wondered what might happen if a larger group, made up of people who didn't really like each other, were put in a similar situation. The Crash is a story about survival, teamwork but above everything else it is about friendship.
