About the author










Dr William A. (Alvin) Bryan (1883-1944) was at the time of his death one of the most significant administrators of psychiatric hospitals. Throughout his years of service he promoted the greater utilization of the public mental hospital as a force for good in the community and as a teaching institution in psychiatric and related fields.
