This book aims to clarify that the 1988 Federal Constitution includes in its provisions the Fundamental Rights of the Elderly, which have been transferred and expanded through the Statute of the Elderly and infra-constitutional legislation, with the aim of ensuring full rights for this population that has been growing considerably in Brazil and in other countries. Studying the problems of the elderly provides new and enriching perspectives for dignified ageing, with the aim of decisively influencing significant changes in order to rescue and realise fundamental rights.
