The return of the negative image is due to a variety of reasons, and one thing is for certain--it has been profitable for filmmakers. ALFRED CHARLES RICHARD, JR. is a Professor of History at Central Connecticut State University specializing in Latin America and the Caribbean./e His current focus is on the film industry's role in shaping the North American national consciousness about our South American neighbors and the Hispanic community within these shores.
