This volume contains the most comprehensive collection of Chilean statistics ever published and deals with central government, general government, and public sector data in the period from 1800 to 1988. About the author
MARKOS J. MAMALAKIS is Professor of Economics at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee specializing in the study of Latin American economic development and history. He co-authored Essays on Chilean Economy, and wrote The Growth and Structure of the Chilean Economy: From Independence to Allende, as well as the five earlier volumes in the Historical Statistics of Chile series (Greenwood Press, 1978-1985). Professor Mamalakis is the author or more than 50 articles.
