About the author










RONALD J. TROYER is an Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Sociology at Drake University. He is the author of a book, articles, and book chapters on social problems, deviance, and social movements.

JOHN P. CLARK, Professor of Sociology at the University of Minnesota at Minneapolis, St. Paul, has lived in Japan as a Senior Fulbright Scholar and in China as a Professor of Sociology at Nankai University, Tianjin. A past President of the Midwest Sociological Society, he is currently Director of the University of Minnesota's Conflict and Change Center.

DEAN G. ROJEK is an Associate Professor in the Sociology Department at the University of Georgia with special interests in juvenile delinquency and the sociology of law. He has just completed a second book on juvenile delinquency and has conducted research on adolescent drug use and diversion.
