About the author

ROBERT BENEDETTO is Associate Librarian at Union Theological Seminary in Virginia. His previous books include Guide to the Manuscript Collections of the Presbyterian Church, U.S. (Greenwood Press, 1990). An authority on 19th century Reformed theology and missions, his articles have appeared in several journals including The Journal of Presbyterian History.
