About the author
Queen Quet Marquetta L. Goodwine, Chieftess of the Gullah/Geechee Nation was homegrown on St. Helena, Polowana and Dataw Islands in the Gullah/Geechee Nation. Queen Quet has published over 15 books with "Gullah/Geechee Blessin pun de Sea" being the third children's book set on the Sea Islands.
Queen Quet is a computer scientists, mathematician, environmental steward and "The Art-ivist." She has traveled to all fifty states of the United States and is completing all seven continents. She does Gullah/Geechee histo-musical presentations to educate the world about the cultural heritage of her people and their work to heal and protect the natural environment.
Queen Quet has won over 300 hundred awards.
