About the author

Jessica Wilson is an award-winning author, representation advocate and founder of Tallawah Publishing, a British-Jamaican independent publishing company founded in response to the need for diversity in the industry.
She has been shortlisted for the 2017 Aesthetica Creative Writing award and is the winner of a Go Fund Me award for Sofia the Dreamer and Her Magical Afro, a fantasy-poem unravelling the history of natural hairstyles and encouraging children to love all of who they are. Jessica has an MA in Creative Writing from the prestigious University of Cambridge and is the author of Firefly Stars.
Oxana Lim is a hugely talented Jamaican-born illustrator living in New York City, where she graduated from Grand Central Atelier with a Fine Arts degree in 2023. She is self-taught but trained in classical methods, drawing inspiration from both ancient and contemporary art but mainly the Golden Age illustrators of the 20th century. Oxana seeks to tell stories through her craft and connect with others through empathy. In her spare time, she enjoys watching musicals and operettas, and learning about history.
