Revolt maybe starts with a deep and far feeling, something which only can be enunciated by poetry. That philosophical portrait of a writer, novelist, journalist and activist (for gays rights) lists a few topics which are almost all political ones and some of them still current. It deals also with a style, regarding both life and work, which remains attractive despite such a very controversial (uncompromising) man ; I first decided to initiate my research because of Guy Hocquenghem's temper, and met many oppositions. I was studying something new, then untold (nothing or only but silence), and I managed to release my book two years after my work : thanks to my humble French publisher. Nine years behind now, here is my own translation of that short essay.
