About the author










Purna Bahadur Karki is a Post-doctoral Research Fellow at the Institute of Global Studies, Tokyo University of Foreign Studies. He holds an MA in International Studies with a focus on peace and conflict, and a Ph.D. in Humanities specializing in Regional and Interregional Studies from the Graduate School of Global Studies at Tokyo University of Foreign Studies. Additionally, he earned a Bachelor of Social Science from Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University. His research interests encompass a wide range of topics, including the modern history of South Asia, Nepali political parties, the parliamentary system, and the nature of contentious politics. His research expertise lies in the areas of human security, Maoist insurgency, peace building, and conflict resolution. Currently, he is engaged in research on post-conflict reconciliations and challenges in Nepal.
